How Hestia handles your information.
This page explains what Hestia collects, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Hestia mobile application, related services, and any webpages where this policy is posted or linked.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect account and profile information such as your email address, preferred name, authentication details, and account identifiers.
We may collect content you create in the app, including mood check-ins, reflections, notes, personal thoughts, contact records, reminders, events, photos, audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, tags, entities, embeddings, and AI-generated suggestions derived from your content.
We may collect social and sharing information such as friend connection requests and statuses, mood-sharing records, and reactions sent or received in connection with shared moods.
We may collect notification-related information such as your push token, notification preferences, notification delivery status, and whether you opened a notification.
We may collect technical and device information such as platform details, basic app session information, and diagnostic or error information.
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, complete onboarding, add contacts, create reflections, upload photos or audio, create reminders or events, manage settings, or use sharing features.
We also collect certain information automatically through your use of the app and the device features you enable, such as notifications and local cache behavior.
We may receive information from service providers that help us operate authentication, storage, notifications, transcription, search, and AI-assisted features.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to provide, maintain, and improve Hestia; authenticate you; store and display your content; enable reminders, events, notifications, and friend connections; and support private mood sharing and reactions.
We also use information to upload, store, retrieve, and delete photos and recordings; transcribe recordings; generate summaries, tags, entities, search indexes, and reminder or event suggestions; protect the security and integrity of the service; investigate abuse or misuse; comply with legal obligations; and process account deletion requests.
5. AI and Automated Processing
Hestia uses automated systems to support features such as audio transcription, note and transcript summarization, tag and entity extraction, search indexing, embeddings, and reminder or event suggestions.
These features are designed to assist you and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. You remain responsible for reviewing suggestions before relying on or saving them.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the service, including providers for infrastructure, authentication, storage, push notifications, AI processing, and transcription. Based on the current Hestia implementation, those providers may include Supabase, Expo, OpenAI, and Deepgram, or similar providers we use for the same functions.
If you choose to share a mood with a connected friend, Hestia is designed so that only limited information, such as the mood and timestamp, is shared. We may also display associated reaction activity and the relevant connection status between users.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms or policies, detect or prevent fraud or abuse, protect users or the public, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, or similar business transaction.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate the business, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
Based on the current product behavior, account deletion requests are marked immediately, active sessions are revoked, and hard deletion is intended to occur after a 24-hour grace period. Deletion processing is intended to remove stored moods, logs, recordings, events, contacts, embeddings, and associated stored files, subject to operational constraints and backups.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request restriction of certain personal information, and to withdraw consent where applicable.
You can also use in-app controls to create, edit, and delete content, manage notification preferences, and request account deletion. If you need help with a privacy request, contact us at hi@favourcodes.com.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Hestia is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use the service without additional consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. By using Hestia, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws than those in your country.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the last updated date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice.
